For reading we had to Read abook called Post cards in space then we had to summarize it this is my Presentation

Pika Path

;For the Pika Path we had to do something about or spaceship so we started of by planning out on a big peace of paper and we had to be really carefully of not mucking up other wise you would probably have to start again after planning we moved onto the presentation we linked all the slides together so its a pick a path the main point of this Task was to make a interesting Descriptive story.We had extra time at the End so we added pictures to each slide This was the Finished Product that me and Maddi made

Road Trip Maths

In maths recently we have been focusing on Financial Literacy. The task was to design a road trip that goes for 10-14 days. We had endless amounts of money to spend to make this more enjoyable, the road trip had to be in NZ and we could only travel for 5 hours in the car each day. We had to visit A zoo, Amusement park, Museum and performance / sport stadium. Maddi, Bianca and I worked together on it and spent a total of $4834.96 I think we really well on this

Im not going out there //Summary

In reading we have been focusing on Summarising. We read a short book called 'Im not going out there' We took some notes while the Mr Billings read us it. Then we put all the ideas into a little summary. Then we went onto the Ipad and used a app called Chatterpix. I worked with Maddi to do this

After we measured the Triangles we measured Quadrilateral. A Quadrilateral is a 4 sided shape. Then we measured 2 and these were my answers The answer had to be around 360 degrees.

In class we cut out 3 different triangles and labeled them 1, 2, 3 and then labeled the corners A, B, C then measured them with a protractor. The answer should be 180 degrees at the end but some times its a little bit out.

Deforestation

We have been learning about unsuitability we did our presentation about Deforestation. I did it with Maddi, Lauren and Ollie

I think we had a lot of good information and how we prestented it with all the pictures of Rain Forests and animals

I think we could of worked a bit more on the Question what is Deforestation

Election Reflection

After all of the voting we did a Reflection on How we think we did!!!

What am I most proud from our election campaign?

Coming 1st= in the class

Why?

Because I know we all worked very hard to get in the top 3 which we  achieved

What do I think we could have done better?

I think or speech/ Presentation could've been a bit longer

How could I have done this?

By planning it a bit better and talking a bit more about our party.

Why did I vote for the party I voted for?

The 3 cs because I agree with them that we do need comfy seating and I think they presented their speech really

Advertising Reflection

For part of our party Inquiry  we had to make an ad here is our unique ad.

We did a reflection on how well we did on our advertising

How did we grab people’s attention right from the beginning?By being in different Places.
Was our content relevant to our political party policies?We talked about our policies and our party
How did we give our audience a good idea about what our policies are?We asked a rhetorical question How was our ad value for money?It was good because we got the message across in the video.
What was successful about our ad?We told the audience in our ad, what we wanted to change.
If we could change anything what would we do differently next time?Maybe include our more of our policies in the ad, which would make our movie longer.
What skills will I need to improve on to do this?Take longer on the planning and be constructive with our timing to video.
Make sure you justify all your answers. A simple yes or no is not good enough

Exposition Writing

Earlier this term we were learning about exposition writing and then we made our own one I made one about how I think Dory should get a longer memory 

Dory

                                                    

Dorys sometimes is  useful but in the Other hand she gets into a lot of trouble by not Remembering things so I think she should get a longer Memory  so she can help people all the time

Firstly: Dory's Memory Gets her into a lot of Trouble Like when Dory was meant to swim through the Trench but they swam through the Jelly Fish Instead and eventually when they found Nemo. Dory did not even Know who Nemo was ! ! !

Secondly:  When they were following the boat they would of been able to keep up but because Dory kept on getting Distracted by other sea creatures  so they lost were the boat was going, So if she had a longer memory they would be able to stay with the boat and they would of been able to find the nemo quicker

Thirdly:  If another fish  asked her to do a big Favour or Job she would go to do it then she would forget what she was doing and why was she at that place at if she had a brain she would be be able to have a good courier

So altogether in the Future in Books/Movies I think dory should have a longer memory she would be more helpful and a lot smarter !

At school we have been learning about change maker and for home work we had to make a presentation about them My person I did was Florence Nightingale Here is the Prezi I did about her

White Mouse Short story

Before we looked through the the white mouse story we had to predict what was going to Happen in the story. Here is what I predicted

Once upon a time in the allies in mexico in a Deep hole lives a heart Broken Rugged white mouse . who  was the only survivor from when the cats invaded there hole. A couple of years ago he found a nice Rat  so together they have become secret agents well they think that they are going to try and get a comeback on the evil cats. When they had all their equipment they set of for their  adventure they had to walk miles by the time they got there they were exhausted  they could not be bothered to even get the cats.

In Technology  we made mama Mia Pizzas Maddi and I made our Pizza in a shape of Mustache

Bottle volume vs Height

a In Maths we have been doing Bottle vs Height were we fulled our Bottle up to the Top and then we would Devide the how many mls it had by 10 when I has Devided it my one was 500 mls So we took 5oomls out of my bottle every time and then measured the water Height after we did all of this we made a graph of it

For maths we have been learning about Algebra we made Machines the machine had 2 boxes in the first box I had x5 and in the second box I had -21

In Reading we were Reading a story called the Stone Cutter  We used a BDAa chart

PE Term 2

For P.E We were focusing on Big Ball skills we have done Rugby - Punting     Basket Ball- Dribbling-Shooting- Passing also for soccer we did Dribbling- Kicking and today we were learning how to header the Ball in soccer

Tech Challenge

  Instead of Electives 92 cm using paper pipes and a strut in the middle. This was the only bridge to hold the weight of the tissue box without it falling off of the bridge collapsing

        What is colour Blindness?

Color blindness affects a lot of people in the world. If your parents are colour blind there is a chance that if they have children they will be colour blind too. Approximately 1 out of 12 males and 1 out of 20 women are color blind. People who  are colour blind can still see clearly like normal people they just can’t see some colour.

Is there a cure for colour Blind?

There is no cure for colour blind yet but there are these type of glasses called Oxy-iso that people can wear

What do you do when you have to see the right colour like traffic lights?

When they are driving and they come to traffic lights they know when to stop because the red is at the top and the  green is down the bottom. Colour blind doesn't mean you can’t see all colours

How do you know when you are colour Blind?

There are different tests you can do like when you have to find the hidden thing in the picture you can do online tests or you go to an eye doctor

• What color is this?” is the most annoying question you can ask your colorblind friend.
• About 8% of all men are suffering from color blindness
• Color vision deficiency would be a much better term compared to color blindness.
• John Dalton wrote the first known Newspaper article about color blindness also John Dalton was color blind too.
• Police officer, firefighter, and aeroplane pilots are the jobs which require normal color vision.
•  Colorblind is a colorblind person who learned to enjoy there colorblind life
• Facebook is blue because its maker Mark Zuckerberg, suffers from color blindness too
• In 1875, a railway accident caused by a color blind train driver who saw a sign incorrectly because instead of red to stop it looked like it was green and killed nine people.

Smell

Smell is a very useful part of your body it helps you in your everyday life. It is one of your 5 senses. Smell also helps you taste.

How  does your nose work ?

In your nose you have a smell device. In the smell device there are more the 10 million scent receptors. And dog can smell 20 times better than a human.  Tiny Odor molecules pass through the nose and into the brain. Every month your scent cells are renewed it is just like getting a new nose. Your nose detect much more than good smells it can also detect bad nasty smells like chemicals.

Why do we need our nose ?

We need our nose so we can taste our food. Smell makes our food taste better. Also in your nose is mucus the green slimy stuff also known as Boogers. You produce almost over a liter of mucus a day. They aren't just there for you to pick they keep the dust and pollen from getting in to your lungs. Also your nose hairs help trap the dust. Another name for Nose hairs is Nasal hair. In an average lifetime you grow about 2 metersz of nasal hair. You can smell much better in spring and summer, due to the moisture in the air and some certain smells can bring back old memories .

Do we need a nose?

Yes you do need a nose Because without a nose you would not be able to taste anything sweet, sour, salty. NOTHING. Without a nose it would be very hard to breathe because you mainly breathe through your nose. Before the air goes it your lungs the nose warms it up so that you lungs don’t freeze. On average a man's nose is bigger than a woman's nose  but a Woman's sense of smell is much better than a Mans.

So altogether you need a nose to Smell yummy homemade baking, Taste sweets and lollies and Breath in air.

Sea Swimming

‘Time to hop in the car Sarah’ Ok Mum i said

It was a beautiful sunny day Mum,Tom and I wheir on the way to watch me do my sea swimming in Nelon port it was about the middle of November 2013  i asked mum are there any sharks in the water our any dangerous stuff that can kill you she said ‘ NO there is nothing in the water that can hurt you because of the tide ‘When we got their I saw the water it was nice and calm. I went up and got my number if you're a member your number  stays the same my number is 173 and i was doing the long swim there's an option between the long or the short swim this was going to be my second long swim last year i always did the short the short swim was only 600 metres and the long swimmers i kilometre After that i quickly got changed into my wetsuit it was  a long sleeved one its brand new once i got changed i started walking down to the when i felt the water it was warm i did a warmup out to a boy when i got out their i heard a big speaker go of [ ALL SWIMMER OUT OF THE WATER ] I sprinted out of the water because i didn't know what was happening . I asked mum when hopped out she said ‘ the biggest boat that will come in to the port is going back out because the tide is right. we had to wait half an hour for it to go out. Finally when it had gone they told us the rules No drafting, no swimming over top of each other and if you hear a loud siren go off please exit the water at the nearest exit they haven't done that in 20 years it means a shark or something  bad is in the water that made my tummy feel like it had turned inside out because i hate sharks and fish. After all of that had finished we went back to the water and the timer said ‘take your marks go’ i was of like a fish even though i hate fishes after i while when i was swimming i swam into a dark and warm bit of water maybe this is where the sharks hang out that made me go quicker  suddenly a  the safety boat came near me i was wondering why i just kept on swimming though i was nearly at the end there was a big crowd i was wondering why am i breaking the record on the fasted 10 year old girl to do 1 km or is this so i went up to my friend and she told me why there was a big crowd my friend does the small swim SHe said that there were killer  whales in the water  i went to get quickly changed then ran to mum and said did you know i  was swimming with killer whales. She said yes thats why there is  a big crowd  everyone came to see the orcas/ killer whales. ‘why didnt you tell me when i hopped out’ i replied ‘ Because i told you that there was nothing scary in the water’ We stayed a little bit after so we could watch the orcas swim around .

When we got home i ran over to dad and told him the whole story he was very proud of me. the next day i was skimming through the paper and then i saw a Article on the paper about the killer whales and the port Nelson sea swim I i saw myself on the paper and the Killer whales were about 10 meters away and there were 8 of them and a few little ones when i got to school that day i showed my class the picture and  told them about my amazing adventure about swimming with some weird friends the orca family my teacher said she was there at a restaurant when the orcas were swimming around the port!!!
