Theorem of Pythagoras
Walt:  understand the theorem of Pythagoras and show our thinking.


  1. What is a ‘theorem’?  The Pythagorean Theorem is that in a right triangle, the sum of the squares of the two right-angle sides will always be the same as the square of the hypotenuse (the long side). A2 + B2 = C2.
  2. Who was Pythagoras? Pythagoras of Samos was an Ionian Greek philosopher, mathematician, and has been credited as the founder of the movement called Pythagoreanism.
  3. What did he do for a job?  Some people say he never had a job. But he was a mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher
  4. What is the importance of his theorem? So you can calculate the sides of a triangle
  5. Explain where it can be used. Builders use to calculate where they have to pour concrete
  6. Prove the theorem with two diagrams showing

Cross Country

Last Friday we had our Cross Country for school I came 4th Also at the start of training for the cross country we did the Beep test my score was 8.5 and we did training most fine days and then soon we will do the beep test again to see if we can do a better time .
